Literacy Volunteers of America/ Camden County (LVA/CC) is devoted to improve “total literacy” of the Camden County community. An estimated 1.4 million adults in New Jersey are functionally illiterate.
Under the aegis of LVA/CC, more than 150 committed volunteer tutors provide free, confidential literacy services to over 250 Camden County adult learners aiding them to fulfill their roles as individual/family members, informed citizens, and productive employees. Over 80% of those adults achieved one or more of their individual goals.
Cherry Hill Rotary Club is proud to help LVA/CC to enable them to continue
to make a difference. We help them with their fundraiser event, a Spelling Bee, by sponsoring a team, and also by making direct donations. Club members serve on the LVA/CC Advisory Board, or assist them in various administrative functions, as well as help out as volunteer tutors.
